Sniffer dog Prince, a celebrated hero of 26/11, succumbed to his heart and kidney ailments at on Friday at Parel’s Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Animal Hospital, where he was admitted to on November 16. The iconic canine was given a 21-gun-salute at 2.30 pm. Nearly 25 personnel of the from Mumbai Police’s Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad BDDS had come to pay their respects to Prince.

While Mumbai Police fondly remembers 10-year-old Prince, a black labrador, for detecting four live bombs and 17 hand grenades that night, his handlers know him as an aggressive, possessive but playful dog.

“I picked him up the first time when he was barely three-months old, and I today picked him up to bury him,” said constable Mahendra Kasekar with BDDS. Kasekar said in his (Prince) last few weeks, Prince could not eat much and was not even able to consume his calcium medicines. “He was in severe pain,” the constable said.

“I first met Prince in December 2004 in Pune where I was given the responsibility to be his handler. My then superior Steven Anthony had named him ‘Prince’ and indeed he behaved like his name. Prince was not friendly with other dogs and always felt himself to be superior to them,” the constable said.

Kasekar and his partner constable Kishor Nawar have been Prince’s dog handlers for the past 10 years. Prince had retired from the BDDS responsibilities on August 31.

Recounting the numerous bombs they found, Kasekar said, “On 26/11, live bombs were found outside Trident and behind Taj. Three days after the terror attacks, Prince detected a live bomb in a bag in a parcel room at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.”

Mumbai Police’s spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni said Prince had even played a vital role in 2006 serial blast, where he detected a bomb inside an ice cream van.

White House security dogs Hurricane and Jordan hailed heroes after they took down intruder who brutally kicked them in the head

Meet Hurricane and Jordan, the heroic security dogs who thwarted Wednesday's White House intruder.

The brave Belgian Malinois have returned to work after being treated for minor bruises following the incident, in which Dominic Adesanya, 23, hopped over the north fence and sprinted across the lawn in a bid to reach the executive mansion. President Obama was inside at the time.

But as footage shows, Adesanya had no chance when faced with Hurricane and Jordan - who swiftly reached him and stopped him in his tracks.

Even when he brutally kicked one of the dogs and punched the other, they didn't let go, preventing him from reaching the first family.

They were treated for minor bruises and have now headed back to work, the Secret Service said.
On Thursday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest praised the agents' response, saying, 'Yesterday's incident underscores the professionalism of the Secret Service.'

As the agency shared photos of the dogs on Twitter, it revealed that Jordan, a five-year-old black and tan Belgian Malinois, 'enjoys walks around White House'.

Hurricane, a six-year-old black Belgian Malinois, 'enjoys playing with his Kong toy', the Twitter feed said. The agency noted both are 'ready to work'.

Adesanya, from Bel Air, Maryland, is in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and has been charged with felony assault on a police officer for hurting the dogs. He is being held without bond.

DEADLY tablets said to be 10 times the strength of normal ecstasy are flooding Glasgow, experts warn.

The yellow party pills, stamped with a UPS logo, are still being sold by dealers despite knowing the dangers.

The drugs are thought to be responsible for the hospitalisation of six clubbers in Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Tests have found UPS pills, which are believed to originate in Switzerland, contain up to 275mg of MDMA, compared to other tablets circulating in Glasgow which contain around 35mg.

Research carried out by a European charity reveals the super-strength batch of the UPS party drug is “neurotoxic and increases the likelihood of irreparable brain damage”, according to a report by the Evening Times.

A source told the paper: “We have some intelligence that yellow UPS tablets are on sale in Glasgow.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s yellow UPS, pink Superman or green Rolex tablets, you don’t know what is in them.

“They simply are not safe.”

The Scottish Drugs Forum posted a warning about the potent batch of ecstasy.

It said: “UPS ecstasy circulating in some parts of Scotland.”
